Development Coordinator

Altair Developments | Atlanta, GA
30–40 Hours/Week | Entry Level

About Altair Developments

Altair Developments is an Atlanta-based residential development and homebuilding company focused on creating thoughtfully designed, high-quality homes and communities throughout Metro Atlanta.

We are a growing, hands-on company, which means no two days look exactly the same. We are looking for a motivated, resourceful, and dependable person to work directly with our team and assist across development, construction, permitting, marketing, and day-to-day operations.

This is a great opportunity for someone who wants to learn the real estate development industry from the ground up. You may be a recent graduate, someone looking to make a career change, or simply a motivated self-starter who has always had an interest in real estate but hasn't had the opportunity to get into the industry.

We're much more interested in finding the right person with the right attitude than someone with a specific resume or career background.

What You'll Do

Permitting & Municipal Coordination

  • Assist with building permits and other development-related applications

  • Follow up with cities, counties, inspectors, utilities, and permitting departments

  • Visit permitting offices and other government offices in person when needed to submit documents, follow up on permits, resolve outstanding items, and help keep projects moving

  • Track permit status, comments, approvals, and outstanding requirements

  • Help coordinate documents and information needed for approvals

  • Make calls, send emails, and stay on top of municipalities until items are completed

Construction & Project Support

  • Visit active construction sites and provide updates to the team

  • Help coordinate with contractors, vendors, suppliers, utilities, and other project partners

  • Track project schedules, open items, and deadlines

  • Help maintain project information, budgets, documents, photos, and updates in our internal systems

  • Assist with miscellaneous issues that come up during construction and help find solutions

Land & Development

  • Research potential properties and development opportunities

  • Review basic zoning, lot dimensions, setbacks, property records, and development requirements

  • Help determine whether properties may work for Altair's home plans

  • Visit potential properties and development sites throughout Metro Atlanta

  • Assist with due diligence and maintain organized information on potential acquisitions

Marketing & Sales Support

  • Help create and coordinate social media and marketing content

  • Take photos and videos of projects and construction progress

  • Help update project websites, listings, signs, and marketing materials

  • Coordinate with Realtors, designers, photographers, sign companies, and other marketing vendors

  • Assist with community launches, open houses, and other sales initiatives

General Operations

  • Work directly with Altair's ownership team on day-to-day priorities

  • Help keep projects and administrative tasks organized

  • Research vendors, products, properties, municipalities, and other items as needed

  • Assist with Smartsheet and other internal project-management systems

  • Take ownership of miscellaneous projects that don't necessarily fall neatly into one category

  • Be willing to jump in and help wherever needed as the company grows

Who We're Looking For

You do not need to come from the real estate or construction industry to be successful in this role.

You might be:

  • A recent graduate looking for your first real opportunity

  • Someone looking to change careers and break into real estate

  • Someone currently working in another industry who has always been interested in real estate or development

  • A motivated self-starter who hasn't found the right career path yet but wants an opportunity to learn, grow, and take on responsibility

We're looking for someone who is:

  • Resourceful and willing to figure things out

  • Motivated and eager to learn

  • Highly organized and dependable

  • Comfortable picking up the phone and following up with people

  • Comfortable walking into a permitting office, asking questions, and figuring out what needs to happen next

  • A strong communicator

  • Comfortable driving around Metro Atlanta for site visits, permitting offices, meetings, and other errands

  • Tech-savvy and comfortable learning new software

  • Interested in real estate, development, construction, or entrepreneurship

  • Able to work independently without needing constant direction

  • Willing to jump between very different tasks depending on what needs to get done that day

Real estate, construction, permitting, or property management experience is a plus, but absolutely not required. We are willing to teach the industry to someone who is motivated, curious, dependable, and willing to learn.

Schedule & Compensation

Approximately 30–40 hours per week, with some flexibility in scheduling.

This is a hands-on Atlanta-based position and will involve a combination of office work, remote work, meetings, construction site visits, permitting offices, and other locations throughout Metro Atlanta. Reliable transportation is required.

Why This Role Is Different

This isn't a traditional desk job where you'll be doing the same thing every day.

One morning you may be at City Hall following up on a building permit. That afternoon you might visit a construction site, research a piece of land we're considering purchasing, coordinate with a vendor, or help put together marketing for a new community.

You'll get firsthand exposure to how residential developments go from finding the land → due diligence → permitting → financing → construction → marketing → selling the finished home.

You don't need to already know how to do all of this. We'll teach you.

What we're looking for is someone who wants the opportunity, takes initiative, isn't afraid to ask questions, and eventually becomes the type of person we can hand something to and say, “Can you figure this out?”

For someone who wants to build a career in real estate development, construction, or entrepreneurship, this is an opportunity to learn the business from the ground up while working directly with the owners of a growing development company.
